Get Pumped!

People of Success

I am all about seeing people happy in everything they do in life! Whether its giving flowers to a stranger, helping a person with their groceries, I just LOVE IT! But, what I really love the most is seeing happy employees, managers and owners of businesses! Those people right there will ALWAYS, no matter where they go in life, will be successful. They enjoy being in their work environment, they enjoy interacting with their patrons, they love their products and the smile while they talk. That's a not common attribute.

I was greeted in a store with everyone smiling today! They were very inquisitive to know what I was looking for, style, use and more! They made jokes, we talked about cats and the latest makeup trends! Their manager even came in the conversation as well, without shooing away their employees to go back to doing something with inventory. The environment was fun! NICE! It wasn't because of the displays, or the beautifully decorative shelving, it was from those women.

Being a sales associate at a major department store is a very tiresome job. Dealing with different personalities of people, standing on your feet all day, trying to get credit for their sale... its a VERY hard position. I know, I was a sales associate while I was in college. But, during my observation with this staff, every single one of them had a smile. They really enjoyed talking and being with people. It wasn't about the products their business sold, it wasn't about the shelves decorated bright and festive. These women had a passion that no matter what situation, business or future endeavor they perused, they ARE going to do well!

Kudos to you women! Your an asset to your employer! I hope that you come across this blog and know and know your an amazing asset to any employer and I appreciate the exceptional customer service I received! I also look forward to helping 2 of you grow your Avon business!

Beauty and the Negative Mind

Beauty

Beauty is in the eye of the holder. When we see good opportunities, that we feel are going to give positive results, we do a evaluation process. We research, ask others in the same field, read success stories and see all the green lights to "GO." But, then that one thought pops up, introduces by a friend. Then, your thought process goes to evaluate all the failures of this opportunity. Soon, your in a conflict of what to do! That door of opportunity goes from a bright beautiful copper door to a tarnishing opportunity that wasn't taken. So, why do we let others be the holders of our sight to understand beauty?

The Negative Mind

When we see the good in an opportunity we do have questions of 'What if's' that come along. Its normal to think of the 'What if's' but when it starts to turn the opportunity to a complete negative one, that's when its not good. It distracts us and stirs up the pot of negativity. Our mind then think YOU what to think negative and be negative after all. So, what do we do to avoid missing out on healthy opportunities? If your opportunity surrounds you with:

-Positive People
- Healthy environment
-Constant growth
-Freedom
-Love
-Support
-New friendships/relationships
-Self-esteem boast
-Financial Freedom/increase income

then YOU are choosing a positive opportunity. Do NOT let any distill a negative thought in your mind. Sure there are tons of 'What if's' I don't succeed or make it? But, if you focus on more of 'What if' I DO become successful. 'What if' I am happy and all those fears never happen?

Always focus on the positive and be aware of the negatives, but, FOCUS on the positive and YOU WILL have a successful POSITVE outcome!

What In the World?

Business is Business
I am part of many large networking groups, with, all different types of small DS business owners. We chat, exchange information and discuss important topics. The majority topics that are discussed are recruiting and selling. Even though I am very fond of all the ladies and their wonderful spunky attitudes, I see why many of them are not growing with their business.

Everyone has different personalities, weaknesses and strengths. Finding what is yours is super important. Thats going to get your business soaring when implemented in the right way. Your weaknesses are awesome too! This is opportunities to make yourself stronger. But, out of everything, personality, attractiveness, strengths, weakness.... one thing has been the reason for small DS business owners to leave. Knowledge of their business products.

Say WHAT?

Oh, sweet stars that shine above us in heaven. I feel for you- customers! I feel FOR YOU! Out of everyone's concerns, everyone pushing for greater goals (which is amazing), I have met 13, let me repeat, 13 reps who had NO CLUE ABOUT THEIR products. They just know the outline. Not the actual product. What it does, the main ingredient, what to pair it up with, how to recommend it, how to notice someones facial skin stressors and offering to help them. Knowledge is power and it also helps us send the message we are helping consumers get the best quality, the best service, the most effective product and most affordable!

Many of you are probably reading this saying, 'Oh I know m products.' But, how are your sales? When is the last time you offered to help a customer on a affordable regiment. When is the last time you explained what an Amino Filler does?

Honesty is the BEST Policy

Our consumers and customers rely on us for so much more! It is important we are honest with honest answers. When an customer ask you a question and you respond with " I dont know, I dont use that," my ears start to bleed! Just typing that my ear and nose are bleeding! Please, don't say that EVER! You want my honest opinion, before you join a DS company, make sure your upline knows what they are talking about. Make sure they have the numbers to prove. Make sure your on the understanding of what products your selling and what you LOVE about them. Be in the know! Have your ducks in a ROW!

Makeup 101

Everyone is beautiful and the Egyptians sure were the first to appreciate and enhance it. Using charcoal, paste, scented waxes, the Egyptians would enhance their natural look with more color and design. Today, not much has changed. The history of make up is quite interesting.

The two pictures are two customers of mine. Makeup is such a wonderful way to balance, enhance and build up self esteem. When you know your products and how to apply them, not only are your customers feel comfortable, but you do! Learning simple makeup applications is really important. Your business and customers need that from you!

Now you may not be the beat makeup artists but your knowledge of the product is what will help you. I have been a makeup artist for over 10 years. My extensive knowledge of makeup comes from the willing to learn, try and be open minded. Don't be afraid to learn and try something different or new! Makeup is an art! It's history! It defines cultures! Its a way to express and enhance our natural beauty!

Now, go and paint the world with people colors and remind people of how beautiful they are! <3

Skin Regiment

I can NOT express how important it is to be on a skin care regiment. As you can see, this was me using store brands and well known names. (Paid an arm and leg) I also tried products with Retinol as its main ingredient and I just am not a fan of retinol being a main ingredient in everything you use. Its unhealthy. The truth is, you just really need three things.

Many people think using extreme drying out your skin will reduce oil production and cure your face. Truth is, it speeds up oil production as your face us saying "hey! We need more oil! There is none! We are all dry!". So, using a product that's a moisturizer that doesn't clog your pores is the remedy! Here's three things I have recommended to customers and they ALL are happy and long time satisfied customers. All you need is:

-Facial wash
-Problematic solver
-Day moisturizer
-Night moisturizer

The problematic solver is the product your using to correct a skin issue. Like scaring, congestion, discoloration solutions. Everyone over the age 16 should be on a skin regiment. It helps avoid issues when they get older.

I could only imagine what my skin would have been like if I didn't maintain some type of regiment on my face.

* For more information and help on what regiment is best for you, please email me at Cindys4avon@gmail.com or contact me at www.youravon.com/cindyschoice

Old Products....New Products

There's a Reason

From time to time companies revamp packaging, change formulas, remove line and etc. Its sad when we see a favorite product go, but, there a reason behind it. A representatives it is important to educate ourselves on current, old and new line products. Knowledge is power and recently, I have came across many customers LEAVING their current rep due to their lack of recommendation of products.

Many products are discontinued for man reasons. Many are brought back with new and improved formulas. At the end of the day the decision is based on overall performance, shelf life and profitability. Customer reviews are the utmost important and the main influence. It is important to advise your customer of the changes and start finding sister products! No matter what!

Dangers of Old Skin Care Products

Our skin is very fragile! Sensitive! Needing tons of love and attention! Skin care is a #1 global seller in the world. When new lines are introduced, old discontinued skin NEEDS TO BE THROWN OUT! Within reasonable time. Using 1-2+ year old product on YOUR FACE?... I am taking my pillow and hitting you right now with it! You shouldn't be using it on your face AND you shouldn't be giving it to your customer! Chemicals break down! They may think that its still good, working, but lets be real. ITS CHEMICALS! The breakdown and can cause a reaction OR cause severe damage not noticeable to the eye.

Its YOUR responsibility to help transition your customer into new products. There is a reason WHY they are discontinued. New line products are WAY better anyway with healthy, gentle and more effective ingredients. Give samples to your customers. Explain the dangers. Explain the benefits of the new products and show customer reviews! Don't forget to store all skin care products in a cool, dry storage. Garage and car are NOT good. Wine fridges are great to protect stock. But, a cool-dry room will do!

So get out there and educate yourself on your products! Knowledge is power and the more you know the better you can help get your customers skin where it needs to be! #Superwomen

Represent Your Business

"Dress in plastic and receive gifts in plastic. Dress in diamonds and receive gifts in diamond." -Peter Devine

Your Business Reflects YOU!

Its a beautiful day outside! Warm, sunny and your walking down a busy side street. You see a women wearing a beautiful mauve colored lipstick! Her cheeks pinched, with, a little rose and her eyelashes long and full. You think, "Wow! I want those colors on me!" She smiles at you and you say, " I just love your lipstick and makeup!" She responds " Thank you! Its Avon! They are on sale and I just love it! Here's a book!"

Isn't the above passage just a great example? Lets switch it with perfume! Or nail polish color with a gorgeous ring or even matching earrings. Whatever the case may be, this scenario is a women representing her business and products! Now, lets check out this next beautiful scenario.

Its a sunny bright day! Your walking across a bakery with scent of fresh bread filling the air! You pause and grab a fresh loaf of bread and tea. A nice seat in the window with the sun beaming down on your skin. The door to the bakery opens and a women wearing slacks and over sized t-shirt walks up to the owner of the bakery. Her hair in a pony tail with no makeup on and a pack of cigarettes hanging out of her bag. She leaves books about her business for the women and sees you! She walks over and says " Here miss. This is my company. Please call me if you want to order."

Now, how do you feel about the above scenario? How would that women be able to recommend products, educate others on the uses of  her products and the applications? Does the skin care work? Her face seemed pretty dull and unhealthy, you had noticed. Do I take advice from her? A customer shouldn't have questionable doubts! Even if you dont wear makeup, moisturize our skin! Paint your nails! Shower with the shower gels! Use your purse from Mark. catalog. You are your businesses FREE walking advertisement.

Needless to say, your a business owner. Treat your business as a business. Look and act like a owner of a business! Speak with professionalism and knowledge! Be a leader and inspire!

Why YOU are your biggest Fan!

I couldn't tell anyone, how many times, people told me I wouldn't do well with Avon. Some negative statements I was ALWAYS told were, "its a scam", "you wont make money and no one really gets anywhere". I couldn't fathom how hurtful, hopeless I felt, and sad that the people I needed the support from were saying such things. These are the same fears I had as well. Hearing the fears (I had everyday) from these people was a challenge. The most hurtful statement I ever heard was from a parent, I was told to "Get a Real job."

Now, being self employed in a DS business is not the easiest career. I see why we have less business owners in America, as your are really tested! All the people who tell  YOU what you need to do with a dream or aspiration you have, you need to tell them to TAKE A SEAT! Surround yourself with other business owners. Doesn't have to be in the same industry. Successful people will give you the mental-positive support you need to be successful. But, the biggest supporter you will ever have is you!

You are the key important person in your business. You started a business because of a reason. Key word, YOU! You started something, you took the time out to make a life changing decision. You surrounded yourself with knowledge and support from others. YOU did this. No one else. So when it comes to YOU getting up, everyday, working hard....at the end of the day you did this. No one else got up for you.

So when people want to give you their advice on your business or make negative statements about you and your aspirations, remember, not everyone can be amazing like you and understand how amazing people work. Keep moving forward!

Knowing who's an Opportunists or Supporter

Growing and small DS business takes time, energy, consistency and WORK! People will see successful DS (Direct Sales) business owners and think, they have been a representative for a long time OR the have many customers. As a small and successful DS business owner with Avon, I can assure you, when I 1st started, I thought the same way. In fact, we all do! But, as long as I have been in business, I see that is not entirely true at all. It's finding out who is the opportunists and who is the supporter!

Congratulations! You started your DS business and have a comfortable amount of customers. Now, you need a balance. That other balance is a team. You meet people everyday and speak to them and now your ready to start your recruiting skills. So, how do we read people? Body language, tone, interest and response. Don't be too critical or over analyzing, even reading into it to much. Key words help you figure out if the person is a opportunist or supporter. Supporter in terms of a customer. Besides, rule of thumb, as I teach my reps is, If they LOVE Avon, turn them into a customer! If they don't have the extra income to buy their favorite Avon products, make them a Rep! An opportunist will take advantage of a opportunity, they see, or is given to them, that will help them grow! Given the opportunity is laid out for them to see it is a benefit. So how do we find out the benefits for them?

When having a conversation with someone, it is VERY IMPORTANT TO LISTEN TO THEM! Going up to someone and pitching a sales pitch, is such a big thumbs down! This is where you need to show your honesty, excitement and knowledge of your business. A big ice breaker to get every conversation going in the right direction is..... Hi! Do you by chance know an Avon Rep? This will keep you in control of the conversation to NOT leave an open ended question. Why? You WANT to know and learn about them! If they say No. Say, "Great, Now you do! My name is________ and I live here in this area." Start talking about the neighborhood. People. Community announcements. Get togethers! Above all smile! Breaking down your conversation with them is important!

Listen! Listen! Listen! Majority of people spend their time in trying to find solutions for other people and NOT listening. Key words can help YOU use that to show the BENEFIT. For example, if the prospect says, "Yeah its been really chilly here lately. I hate this cold weather." Right there, you can say " Yes! It has been chilly! This cold weather is hurting my hands and lips! I keep my hand lotion and lip balm near buy so I don't crack up! Like Skin So Soft!" This scenario helps you remind our #1 brand Skin So Soft that majority people know and a chance for you to give a brochure. When you hand a brochure, keep talking about the current topic. Get to know them as much as you can! People will usually indicate their love for Avon into which you can go to the customer/potential rep route.

Always get a name, number and email. Keep it REAL! Friendly! Sweet! Genuine! Get to know the people in your community! Learn about different personalities! Don't EVER ASSUME! Talk while smiling! Look in the mirror and see the difference! Always remember, at the END of the day you will still make money. Whether they join or not, you still will make money! On to the next!

Keeping a Clean Media Page

I often come across representatives of Direct Sales companies who have their company listed beautifully. Pictures of their products, new sale items, beautiful information about their business and a statement on how much they hate their mother-in-law's advice on raising kids. Needless to say, when have a small business and are working with the general public, its good to keep personal issues away from public view.

We all have moments when we want to share our frustration about a situation with the dog, kids and husband. But, the truth of the matter is.... we ALL have issues. Many people ENJOY being around their favorite DS Rep because it takes them away from their current reality. Think about it. Isn't it just nice to go to your favorite store and just talk about the latest shoes coming out...hair trends? YES! It's positively lovely! Now, think about going to that store. Sitting down thinking, 'YES! Shoe shopping time' and the shoe Rep (who knows you) starts talking about her problems of the day. Not so relaxing, huh?

All business' caters to the public, one way or another. Even if you have known your customer for 10 years. A friendly and professional relationship is best. I admit, I too have personally slipped, a few times, with crossing my boundaries with customers. BUT, I have shaken it off and implemented the barriers back up.

People LOVE to read about happy stories! Excitement! To live vicariously through one another. With all the negativity in the world, post happy and exciting information! Not always about your business (as over doing it can be too much), but, about local stories and etc. Show your positive side! Its contagious and eventually people become more positive and can attribute that to people who make them feel that way!

So, clean out your social media pages. Create a separate one for customers and personal. Vent to 1 person who is NOT a customer and NOT business related. Keep a balance of promoting your business and non-business related post. Spread happiness and don't forget to make others smile!

The Opportunist

As successful individuals, we tell our self more of what we CANT achieve versus what we can! The only person holding you back is yourself! Managing time out for you and what you like is very important. It reflects on how YOU conduct business. At the end of the day, its NOT about how others feel. Its about how YOU feel. Did YOU make the right choices.

Being in touch with our own needs helps us to be more honest people. When we are honest, we attract good energy and people. That is why its important to have a positive outlook no matter what. No excuses. People can feel and read that.

When you want to express joy, happiness and opportunities to others, your body language says it all. If your nervous when you approach, that means your nervous about the opportunities you offer. If you are confident in what you do and the opportunities you are given, you will be confident to share and speak about them to others.

In other words, how you feel about what you give people is what you currently feel about the opportunity you have been given! Embrace be happy and show your excitement. If the person you are offering the opportunity isn't, then GREAT! Your happiness is what matters in the 1st place! On to the next!
